LNB 2 Round 15 (Regular Season): No surprise as #1 Colo Colo defeats Luis Matte

LNB 2 top team - Colo Colo (16-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Luis Matte (6-9) in Santiago 98-62. Colo Colo shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 54.8 percentage. It was a great evening for the former international Jorge Schuler (199) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 7 rebounds. Juan Peters (-1993) helped adding 13 points. The best for the losing side was Franco Garrido (181) with 20 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Colo Colo have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-0 record. Luis Matte lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Colo Colo are looking forward to face Quilpue (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Luis Matte will play against Municipal C. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 15 Quilpue won against Arabe de Valp. on the opponent's court 78-68. Sergio Ceppi managed to outperform Arturo Prat in a home game 85-70.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 17 points and 13 rebounds by Luis Marrero of Sergio Ceppi.

Arabe de Valp. - Quilpue 68-78

There was a minor upset in Valparaiso where 7th ranked Arabe de Valp. (7-8) was defeated by tenth ranked Quilpue (7-8) 78-68 on Sunday. It was a great evening for Hilario Sanchez (-1999) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Sebastian Jara (177-1983) helped adding 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Quilpue players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Argentinian forward Diego Maranesi (-1997) with 13 points and 8 rebounds and Manuel Flores (180-2002) scored 16 points. Arabe de Valp.'s coach Matias Carcamo rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Quilpue moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Arabe de Valp. Quilpue is looking forward to face higher ranked Truenos (#4) in Talca in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Arabe de Valp. will play on the road against Boston College in Santiago and is hoping to win this game.

Very predictable result in Santiago where third ranked Sergio Ceppi (11-6) defeated bottom-ranked Arturo Prat (2-14) 85-70 on Sunday. Sergio Ceppi forced 28 Arturo Prat turnovers. It was a great evening for Luis Marrero (-2005) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Power forward Boris Guerra (-1987) helped adding 25 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Venezuelan Carlos Romero with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Matias Gonzalez (-2001) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sergio Ceppi moved-up to second place. Arturo Prat lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Sergio Ceppi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena Brisas.
