Guillermo Navarro claims Chilean LNB Hoops Agents weekly honour

Panamanian Guillermo Navarro (181-PG-2003) had a very impressive game in the last round for Club Deportes Puente Alto and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5 (Second Stage).
The 23-year old playmaker had the game-high 33 points adding six rebounds and five assists for Puente Alto in his team's victory, helping them to beat Puerto Varas (#8, 5-7) 89-76. Puente Alto is placed at 5th position in Chilean LNB. Puente Alto is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 9th lost game this season out of 17 games. In the team's last game Navarro had a remarkable nine three-pointers out of 12 attempts. He turned to be Puente Alto's top player in his first season with the team. Guillermo Navarro averages this season 14.1ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Jonathan Ocasio (196-F-1992) of Club Deportes Puerto Varas. Ocasio impressed basketball fans with 33 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Puerto Varas lost that game 91-98 to the higher-ranked Univ.Concepcion (#2, 13-1). Puerto Varas managed to keep the same 8th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-7 record. Ocasio is a newcomer at Puerto Varas and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Chilean Aseem Luckey (206-F-2001) of Club Deportes Espanol de Talca (#13). Luckey scored 21 points and grabbed 23 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Espanol, leading his team to a 80-74 win against the higher-ranked Univ.Catolica (#10, 6-9). Espanol can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-12 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Luckey has individually a great season in Chile. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.9ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 10.7rpg (4th best). He also has 1.3bpg and a FGP of 55.7%.
