International Center Tatiana Gomez (192-C-1981) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked CD Esc. Alemana Paillaco, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 42-year old player was the main contributor (21 points, nine rebounds and three assists) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass UCSC (#5, 2-7) with 42-point margin 102-60. It allowed Alemana to consolidate first place in the Chilean LNF. Alemana has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 9-1. Gomez just recently signed at Alemana, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Tatiana Gomez has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (8th best: 16.5ppg), rebounds (9th best: 10.0rpg) and averages impressive 1.7bpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young U.S. Virgin Islands Taylor Jones (173-G-1997) of Colegio Los Leones Quilpe. Jones had a very good evening with 33 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Leones cruised to a 88-79 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked CDSC (#2, 8-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Zona Centro. Leones consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. Her team's 7-3 record is not bad at all. Jones is one of the most experienced players at Leones and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.5ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 9.0rpg and 3.4apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was Constanza Cardenas (1998) of Universitares De la Frontera Temuco (#4). Cardenas scored 23 points and grabbed 16 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Frontera, leading her team to a 63-49 easy win against Puerto Montt (#6, 0-10). The chances of Frontera ranking at the top of Zona South, however are very questionable as they have already lost 5 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Cardenas could help Frontera to bring them higher in the standings. Cardenas has a great season in Chile. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.8ppg (9th best).

10. Fernanda Ovalle (178-G-2003) of CDSC - 23 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
