LNF Round 2 (Regular Season): Frontera keep a leadership position

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LNF. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Frontera smashed Puerto Montt in Temuco 71-26. Frontera held Puerto Montt to an opponent 16.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 35.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Frontera forced 21 Puerto Montt turnovers and outrebounded them 47-25 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward Constanza Cardenas (185-1998) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Josefina Viafora (185-1999) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Ximena Becerra responded with 6 points and 7 rebounds. Puerto Montt's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Valparaiso. host Sportiva Ita. defeated Gimnastico 64-58. Amanda Guineo (-2007) notched 15 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Josefina Cortes supported her with 5 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds by Venezuelan forward Maria Quero (160-1999) did not help to save the game for Gimnastico. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
The game in Talca was also quite interesting. Univ.Concepcion played at the court of Espanol. Univ.Concepcion defeated Espanol 76-60 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Sydni Tears who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds. Barbara Torres produced 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.

In the last game of round 2 winless Sergio Ceppi lost to undefeated Los Leones on the opponent's court 48-73.

Los Leones - Sergio Ceppi 73-48

Rather expected game in San Pablo where Sergio Ceppi was crushed by Los Leones 73-48 on Sunday. Los Leones forced 24 Sergio Ceppi turnovers and outrebounded them 46-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan Daniela Morillo-Wallen (179-1995, college: Okla City) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international forward Jovanka Ljubetic (176-2000, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Four Los Leones players scored in double figures. Cuban center Betsy Guilarte (186-2003) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Francisca Salvatierra (173-1994) added 16 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
