The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Sportiva Ita. (7-1) in Valparaiso on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Los Leones (7-1) 82-67. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Sportiva Ita.. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Los Leones dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sportiva Ita.'s 34. They outrebounded Sportiva Ita. 58-32 including a 42-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan Daniela Morillo-Wallen (179-1995, college: Okla City) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American forward Krystan Vornes (188-1999, college: UALR) chipped in 18 points and 19 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Colombian guard Manuela Rios (165-1997) who recorded 26 points, 5 assists and 7 steals. Sportiva Ita.'s coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Los Leones have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Sportiva Ita. and Alemana.
Important game to mention about took place in Vina del Mar. Fifth ranked Gimnastico (1-6) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 3rd ranked Sergio Ceppi (1-5) 57-56 on Saturday evening. It was a good game for Claudia Inostroza who saved her team from a defeat with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Massiel Mondaca contributed with 7 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Cuban center Betsy Guilarte (186-2003) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 23 rebounds for Sergio Ceppi. Gimnastico maintains fifth position with 1-6 record. It was Sergio Ceppi's third loss in a row. They keep the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Puente Alto.
