Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The biggest surprise of round 10 was guest Espanol's (#4) road victory over Univ. Austral (#5) 68-60 on Saturday evening. Espanol outrebounded Univ. Austral 44-20 including a 35-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Argentinian point guard Melina Niz (165-2005, agency: BIG) fired 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. Kiera Shields chipped in 14 points and 13 rebounds. Sofia Leichtle (-2006) produced 18 points for lost side. Univ. Austral's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Espanol maintains fourth position with 2-6 record. Univ. Austral lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Santiago: Puente Alto (#1) and Sergio Ceppi (#4). Puente Alto (9-1) smashed visiting Sergio Ceppi (3-7) by 52 points 86-34. Worth to mention a great performance of Colombian forward Mabel Martinez (180-1986) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Catalina Ramirez contributed with 15 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Center Katalina Garcia (182-1994) replied with 2 points and 11 rebounds for Sergio Ceppi. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Puente Alto have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. Sergio Ceppi at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Puerto Montt: Puerto Montt (#3) and Univ. Austral (#5). Puerto Montt (5-3) won against visiting Univ. Austral (1-7) 78-70. Isabel Gonzalez had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Sofia Leichtle responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puerto Montt moved-up to second place, which they share with Alemana. Univ. Austral lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost.

Alemana was defeated by Puerto Montt in a road game 60-56. Sportiva Ita. smashed Brisas at home 89-35. Los Leones destroyed Gimnastico on the opponent's court 81-49. Univ.Concepcion outscored Espanol in a home game 82-54.
The best stats of 10th round was 7 points and 5 rebounds by Gisella Galvan of Espanol.

Puerto Montt - Alemana P. 60-56

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when their biggest opponent Alemana (5-3) was defeated on the road by third ranked Puerto Montt (5-3) 60-56 on Friday. Puerto Montt dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Alemana P.'s 18. Center Isabel Gonzalez (190-1998, college: Morehead St.) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian Jacqueline Soto (-1997, agency: BIG) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Italian-Argentinian Daniela Dublo (184-1988) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Chelsey Gipson (170-1999, college: LMU) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Puerto Montt moved-up to second place, which they share with Alemana.

No shocking result in a game in Valparaiso where second ranked Sportiva Ita. (8-2) smashed 6th ranked Brisas (1-9) 89-35 on Saturday. Sportiva Ita. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Brisas' 30. Sportiva Ita. forced 29 Brisas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Brisas' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sportiva Ita. made 7 blocks. Aliosha Hernandez (-2002) had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Oliveria Eschmann (-2006) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Rather expected game in Vina del Mar where 5th ranked Gimnastico (2-8) was rolled over by third ranked Los Leones (7-3) 81-49 on Sunday. Los Leones dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Gimnastico's 24. Los Leones forced 24 Gimnastico turnovers and outrebounded them 50-37 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American center Alexus Johnson (197-1994, college: Texas Southern) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Akilah Bethel (183-1993, college: LSU) chipped in 15 points and 19 rebounds during the contest. Four Los Leones players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Sofia Vidal (171-2000, college: FNU) responded with 13 points and 6 assists and Venezuelan power forward Gisell Ramirez (183-2004) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds.
