Chilean LNB round 4 best performance: Rashad Hassan

American Rashad Hassan (203-C/F-1989) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Club Deportes Las Animas, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 36-year old player was the main contributor (24 points, seven rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Ancud (#6, 0-4), the league's bottom-ranked team 95-87. Las Animas is placed at 2nd position in Chilean LNB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Las Animas will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Hassan had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Las Animas' top player in his first season with the team. Former Savannah State University star has very solid stats this year. Hassan is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.0ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 9.0rpg) and averages impressive 61.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young international guard Erik Carrasco (181-G-1983) of league's leader Club Deportivo Valdivia. Carrasco had a very good evening with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course he led Valdivia to another comfortable win 86-69 over the lower-ranked Puerto Varas (#4, 2-2) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Sur. Valdivia consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team has currently 3-1 record. Carrasco is one of the most experienced players at Valdivia and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Las Animas' star - Canadian forward Emanual Shepherd (203-F-1995). Shepherd scored 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He was another key player of Club Deportes Las Animas, helping his team with a 95-87 win against Ancud (#6, 0-4). Las Animas needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in Sur. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost games. Shepherd has a very solid season. In 2 games in Chile he scored 14.0ppg.
