Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The biggest surprise of round 9 took place in Santiago where guest Sportiva Ita. (#1) barely escaped a defeat edging 3rd placed Puente Alto by 2 points 70-68 on Tuesday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Sportiva Ita. forced 23 Puente Alto turnovers and had a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Lydia Rivers (188-1997, college: Virginia Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. International forward Jovanka Ljubetic (176-2000, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 17 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Colombian guard Manuela Rios (163-1997) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Sportiva Ita. have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-1 record. Puente Alto at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost.

Sergio Ceppi was crushed at home by 33 points 34-67 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a good game for who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Manuela Rios contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Lydia Rivers (188-1997, college: Virginia Tech) answered with 8 points and 10 rebounds for Sergio Ceppi. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Puente Alto (8-2) moved-up to second place. Sergio Ceppi lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Valparaiso. First ranked Sportiva Ita. faced 3rd placed Los Leones. Host Sportiva Ita. (9-1) defeated guests from San Pablo (7-3) 76-69. Lydia Rivers stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. The best for the losing side was Alexus Johnson with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sportiva Ita. have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-1 record. Loser Los Leones keep the third position with three games lost.

In the last game of round 9 Gimnastico crushed Brisas in Vina del Mar 99-54.

Sergio Ceppi - Puente Alto 34-67

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Santiago: Puente Alto (#3) and Sergio Ceppi (#5). Sergio Ceppi was crushed at home by 33 points 34-67 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Puente Alto held Sergio Ceppi to an opponent 20.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 33.8 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Sergio Ceppi 56-32 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Catalina Ramirez who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Colombian guard Manuela Rios (163-1997) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Lydia Rivers (188-1997, college: Virginia Tech) answered with 8 points and 10 rebounds and international forward Jovanka Ljubetic (176-2000, agency: LBM Management) added 6 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Sergio Ceppi. There was no surprise in Santiago where bottom-ranked Brisas (0-10) were crushed by fourth ranked Gimnastico (4-6) 99-54 on Saturday. Gimnastico dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Brisas' 36 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Brisas 66-31 including a 27-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Sonya Morris (178-1997, college: Texas) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Arleny Gonzalez chipped in 18 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Gimnastico players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Lydia Rivers (188-1997, college: Virginia Tech) with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and international forward Jovanka Ljubetic (176-2000, agency: LBM Management) scored 8 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gimnastico maintains fourth place with 4-6 record.
