Bethel's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

32-year old American forward Akilah Bethel (183-F-1993) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Colegio Los Leones Quilpe and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
She had a double-double of 23 points and 16 rebounds, while her team crushed Gimnastico (#6, 1-2) with 17-point margin 97-80. It allowed Los Leones to take over top position in the Chilean LNF. The season is still on an early stage, but Los Leones already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Bethel had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. She turned to be Los Leones' top player in her first season with the team. Louisiana State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Bethel is in league's top in points (8th best: 15.5ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 13.5rpg) and averages solid 3.0spg and 60.0% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Roxane Makolo (178-G-2000) of CD Gimnastico Vina del Mar. She is Canadian-DR Congolese guard in her first season at Gimnastico. In the last game Makolo recorded an impressive 31 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Gimnastico lost that game 80-97 to Los Leones (3-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Makolo is one of the most experienced players at Gimnastico and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.7ppg (#3). She also registered 11.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Josefina Viafora (185-PF-1999) of CD Universitario Concepcion (#3). Viafora showcased her all-around game by recording 18 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Univ.Concepcion, leading her team to a 111-41 easy win against Quilicura (#7, 0-3). Univ.Concepcion needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost games. Viafora has a great season in Chile. After only 3 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.0ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 7.7rpg (9th best).
