Liga Wplay Round 2 of Regular Season

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in Liga WPlay. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

First defeat of league's leader Team Cali against Piratas 84-71 was the most important game of the last round. Piratas outrebounded Team Cali 43-32 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Tristan Jarrett (193, college: Jackson St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 4 assists. The other American import point guard Jeremy Smith (180-1997, college: CSUSB) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Piratas' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dominican forward Jeromy Rodriguez (201-1996, college: ETSU) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds for Team Cali.
Piratas recorded a loss in Bogota. Hosts were defeated by Team Cali 82-72. Dominican forward Jeromy Rodriguez (201-1996, college: ETSU) scored 30 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and John Merchant chipped in 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Team Cali's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Jeremy Smith (180-1997, college: CSUSB) responded with 19 points.
An interesting game for Corsarios which hosted in Cartagena Storm. Corsarios managed to get a 9-point victory 77-68. Travis Atson notched 26 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by Luis Almanza did not help to save the game for Storm.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 2: Cimarrones smashed Sabios on the road 92-67. Condores lost to Piratas on its own court 92-101. Cimarrones outscored Sabios in Quibdo-Choco 89-51. Condores recorded a loss to Cimarrones at home 71-79. Cimarrones defeated Condores on the opponent's court 86-74. Winless Bucaros lost to defending champion Titanes in a home game 54-92. Titanes won against Bucaros on the road 83-75. Corsarios unfortunately lost to Carrib.Storm on its own court 73-85.
The most impressive performance of 2nd round was 18 points and 4 assists by Lysander Bracey of Cimarrones.

Corsarios - Carrib.Storm 77-68

An interesting game for Corsarios which hosted in Cartagena Storm. Corsarios managed to get a 9-point victory 77-68. American swingman Travis Atson (196-1997, college: SFC) notched 26 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Logan Santiago (185, college: AIC) supported him with 18 points and 5 assists. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by international Luis Almanza (196-1991) did not help to save the game for Storm. International Michaell Jackson (190-1987) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests.

American guard Lysander Bracey (193-1996, college: Hampton) notched 24 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international center Cristian Arboleda (205-1992) supported him with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Cimarrones players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 8 rebounds by American guard Mitchell Kirsch (193-1998, college: Babson) did not help to save the game for Sabios. Andres Mosquera (196-1994) added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the hosts.
