Liga WPlay Round 16 (Regular Season): Carrib.Storm beat Titanes by three after a very close game

The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Liga Wplay took place in Barranquilla. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th ranked Titanes (11-6) to first ranked Storm (14-2) 77-74 on Sunday evening. Carrib.Storm outrebounded Titanes 45-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Andres Ibarguen (200-1996, college: Angelo St., agency: Helping Ballers) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds. The former international guard Romario Roque (175-1998) contributed with 12 points and 6 assists for the winners. Storm's coach Jaime Ortiz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. However their fans expected easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican Diego Colon (188-2001, agency: BMS Sport Agency) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 8 rebounds and Juan Rosario who added 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. At the losing side Argentinian-Italian guard Mateo Diaz (186-2002) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Motilones have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Toros Del Valle lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. No shocking result in a game when third ranked Motilones (12-4) beat 7th ranked Cimarrones (3-13) in Cucuta 89-73 on Sunday. Motilones outrebounded Cimarrones 74-33 including a 29-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Dominican power forward Juan Rosario (203-1999, agency: BMS Sport Agency) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 22 rebounds and American guard Devin Brooks (186-1992, college: Creighton, agency: BMS Sport Agency) supported him with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. Brooks is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by Dominican point guard Adris De Leon (180-1984, college: EWU, agency: BMS Sport Agency) did not help to save the game for Cimarrones.
