Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game in the last round took place in San Andres Island between third ranked Piratas (1-2) and fourth ranked Storm (2-3) on Monday night. Piratas were defeated by Storm on the road 56-74. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Carrib.Storm outrebounded Piratas 53-35 including a 41-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Carrib.Storm made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Emmitt Williams (198-1998, college: LSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 20 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Matthew Butler (188-1995, college: UT Martin) contributed with 23 points for the winners. point guard Felipe Soler (-1998) replied with 14 points and 4 steals for Piratas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Carrib.Storm moved-up to second place, which they share with Motilones. Piratas at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Carrib.Storm is again looking forward to face Piratas (#4) in Bogota in the next round. Piratas will have a break next round.
An interesting game for Paisas (5-1) which hosted in Medellin 4th ranked Cimarrones (1-5). First ranked Paisas managed to get a 11-point victory 99-88. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Vince Cole (198-1998, college: Coastal) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 7 rebounds and Brandon Weatherspoon who added 30 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Corey Sanders (188-1997, college: Rutgers) responded with 20 points and 5 assists. Paisas have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-1 record. Cimarrones lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with five games lost. Paisas will again play against Cimarrones (#4) in Quibdo-Choco in the next round. Cimarrones will have a break next round.
An interesting game for Toros (2-4) which played road game in Manizales against their biggest opponent Sabios (4-2). Third ranked Toros managed to get a 9-point victory 70-61. The winners were led by Dikembe Andre who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Even 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists by Walyn Napper did not help to save the game for Sabios. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toros Del Valle maintains third position with 2-4 record having just three points less than leader Caimanes. Loser Sabios keep the second place with two games lost. Toros Del Valle will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sabios will play against Toros Del Valle in Cali and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games in round 4 were not that significant. Cimarrones were smashed by Paisas on the road 97-77. Sabios won against Toros Del Valle on its own court 71-57. Motilones lost to undefeated Caimanes in Villavicencio 79-85.



Paisas - Cimarrones 99-88

An interesting game for Paisas (5-1) which hosted in Medellin 4th ranked Cimarrones (1-5). First ranked Paisas managed to get a 11-point victory 99-88. Paisas dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Cimarrones' 36. They outrebounded Cimarrones 43-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Vince Cole (198-1998, college: Coastal) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 7 rebounds and guard Brandon Weatherspoon (193, college: FAU) who added 30 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Corey Sanders (188-1997, college: Rutgers) responded with 20 points and 5 assists and guard Delano Spencer (193-1994, college: Tennessee St.) scored 18 points and 5 assists. An interesting game for Toros (2-4) which played road game in Manizales against their biggest opponent Sabios (4-2). Third ranked Toros managed to get a 9-point victory 70-61. The winners were led by Brazilian center Dikembe Andre (206-1999) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Yildon Mendoza (206-1996, college: Angelo St.) supported him with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Four Toros players scored in double figures. Even 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists by American point guard Walyn Napper (185-2000, college: Longwood) did not help to save the game for Sabios. Martin Cabezas (197-2001) added 14 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. American players dominated also this game.
