Luis Bethelmy claims Colombian LBP Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced Venezuelan Luis Bethelmy (200-F-1986) put on an amazing game in the last round for Caimanes del Llano and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 39-year old forward had a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Carrib.Storm (#5, 5-7) 96-89. Thanks to this victory Caimanes moved-up to the 3rd position in Colombian LBP. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Caimanes will need more victories to improve their 7-3 record. In the team's last game Bethelmy had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Caimanes' top player in his first season with the team. Bethelmy has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 9.7rpg), assists (6th best: 3.3apg) and averages solid 65.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Chilean point guard Franco Morales (181-PG-1992) of Motilones del Norte. Morales impressed basketball fans with 37 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Motilones lost that game 111-118 to slightly higher-ranked Cimarrones (#6, 3-9). This loss caused Motilones to slide to the very bottom (7) position in the standings. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Motilones managed to get this year. Morales is a newcomer at Motilones and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Ty-Shon Alexander (193-G-1998) of second-ranked Los Paisas de Medellin. Alexander scored 25 points and passed 5 assists. He was a key player of Paisas, leading his team to a 95-85 win against #4 ranked Sabios in a game of the week. Paisas needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 3 lost games. Alexander has a great season in Colombia. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.0ppg (9th best).
