First defeat of league's leader Paisas (3-1) against Sabios (1-3) 80-71 was the most important game of the last round. It was a good game for Dominican swingman Braynt De La Cruz (198-2002) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard Darwin Blanco (188-2003) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners. American guard Davion Bailey (193, college: UIW) answered with 24 points and 5 rebounds for Paisas.
Toros (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed Storm (0-4) in Cali 94-37. It was a great evening for American point guard Emmanuel Payton-Clottey (183-1997, college: FSU) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. Kevin Quinonez helped adding 12 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Luis Viloria (-1999) with 8 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
Paisas (3-1) added another victory to their record on Tuesday. This time they beat Sabios (1-3) in Manizales 73-68. It was a quality performance for Marcus Weathers who led the winners and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Paisas' coach Luis Lopera used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Braynt De La Cruz came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for Sabios in the defeat.
In the last game of round 3 winless Carrib.Storm lost to undefeated Toros on the road 47-73.
The most impressive performance of 3rd round was 14 points and 6 assists by Saquan Singleton of Toros.
