Barva win National Championship title - Jun 24, 2013

Barva earned the National Championship title. They overcame Sanaturu-Escazu 3-1 in the Grand Final series. The decisive victory came with the score of 74:72 in favour of Barva. The game was stopped on Saturday because of the failure of the electricity. It was resumed on Sunday and Barva proved the strength at the end. Kay Martinez (198-G-84, college: Jackson St.) was pivotal in the victory. It was the seventh title for Barva in the last eight campaigns.

Sanatura-Escazu claim Clausura title - Jun 11, 2013

Sanatura-Escazu celebrated the Clausura title. They defeated Coopenae USJ in the decisive third game of the title series. Sanatura-Escazu will now face Apertura champions Barva in the Grand Final.
Escazu grabbed a narrow 18:15 lead after the opening quarter. San Ramon pulled ahead in the second frame. The visitors arrived at halftime up by three points 35:32. The teams stayed close throughout the third term. Sanatura-Escazu eked out a 48:47 lead heading into the final stanza. The margin grew at 7-point mark midway through the final frame. Coopenae USJ trimmed the gap late in regulation but could not avoid the loss at the end. Isaac St.Rose (190-G/F-83, college: John Brown) stepped up with 22 points to lead Sanatura-Escazu. Daniel Simmons (194-F/C-80) answered with 18 points for San Ramon.

Barva wins Apertura - Feb 11, 2013

After falling on the road in Game 1, Ferreteria Brenes Barva managed to win the consecuitve two games, played at home, claiming the LSB-Apertura title.
Game 2 ended 75-69, and Kay Martinez (198-G-84, college: Jackson St.) was the game top scorer with 23 points, while Chris Giles (193-G) led San Ramon with 19.

Game 3, played yesterday night, ended 62-50 and was the typical close, low-scoring game, with tough defenses and lots of nervous around.
Another time more, Chris Giles was the best in Coopenae-USJ ARBA San Ramon, also taking the game top scoring honors at 13. Veteran Henry Martinez (188-G/F-75) led all the Barva scorers at 13 points.
