It was a rough week for Ferreteria Brenes Barva they lost not only 2 games in a row but they also handed the title of the Torneo de Apertura Champions to Coopenae Pop. Pensiones San Ramon. It is not fair to just point out the errors, of course every team prepares to win but to be champions they can't just want it they have to prove why they deserve it� and that is proven on the court. January next year a new Tournament will start, and Ferreteria Brenes Barva has a new chance to get it together as a TEAM while Sunday night [last night] will be a night to remember for San Ramon, too bad some of their fans wanted a different show of their own, but let's take this opportunity to remind ourselves that basketball in Costa Rica it is supposed to be a family-friendly event and that is a good thing.

Barva defend National Championship title - May 22, 2014

Barva repeated as the Costa Rican National League champions. They overcame San Ramon 77:75 in the decisive fifth game of the Finals. Rohel Wilson (197-F/C-89) sank a late layup to help Barva to the trophy. The victory marked the eighth success for Barva in the National League history. Barva led by just two points in the middle of the game 57:55. They opened a double digit lead 69:59 in the third stanza. But San Ramon came back into the game. Brandon Rozzell (188-G-89, college: VCU) sank a three-pointer with nine second remaining to make it 75:75. However it was just enough time for Roel Wilson to perform the decisive shot.
