Roswell left no doubt at the Colegio Miravalle, turning what was billed as a do-or-die night into a rout, beating the Limon Sharks 97-76 to seal their place in the Liga Superior de Baloncesto Grand Final.
Roswell signaled its intentions from the opening tip, winning an offensive-heavy first quarter 33-25 as Terrell Fullerton set the tone with 13 fast points; Tyrone Nesby IV (198-F/G-1999, college: Webber) IV tried to keep the hosts afloat with nine of his own. The turning point came in the second quarter, when Roswell clamped down defensively and rattled off a 10-0 run, holding the Sharks to just 45 percent shooting on twos and taking a commanding 54-38 lead into the break, with Devale Johnson's rebounding dominance already evident. The Sharks came out with pride after halftime, winning the third quarter 22-20 behind G. Lane (who finished with 23 points) and seven more from Tyrone Nesby IV, even briefly tying the game but Roswell's composure held, and the visitors still led 74-60 entering the fourth. Roswell then closed the show in style, with Jordan Stephens (196-G, college: FHU) taking over down the stretch, scoring 10 of his game-high 31 points in the final period alone. The 97-76 final reflected Roswell's across-the-board superiority, including a 48-40 rebounding edge and a 5-1 advantage in blocked shots. |
