Ian Martinez transfers to Utah State University

Utah State University added to their roster 21-year old Costa Rican guard Ian Martinez (6'3''-185lbs) for new 2023-24 season. Martinez is the second import player in the roster as British Joshua Uduje signed here earlier.
Heredia (Costa Rica) native played for the last two years at University of Maryland. In 35 games he recorded 5.7ppg and 2.5rpg last season.
He played also at University of Utah in 2020-2021.
He was one of the highest ranked players in high school in 2020. Martinez graduated Junipero Serra Catholic High School (San Juan Capistrano, CA). He was also voted to California All-State Third Team, California All-CIF Southern Section Division 1 Team, California All-CIF Southern Section Team and Orange County All-Trinity League First Team that year.
Martinez represented Costa Rica at the McDonald's All American Games three years ago.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team won Costa Rican National League Championship in 2018. He was selected to Pangos All-America Camp in Norwalk, CA in 2019.
