Pelicans and Escoba have won Quarterfinal openers in Costa Rica. Escoba edged Colegio de Abogados 70-69 in a thriller. They needed a 15-7 run at the end to seal the narrow win.
Pelicans meanwhile edged Jaguares Caribe 72:62. Mario Jose Gonzalez (189-F-1998) was named MVP of the game scoring 19 points and adding 13 rebounds.
