LSB Round 11 (Regular Season): ARBA hands first defeat to Abogados

Abogados (8-1) recorded its first loss in San Jose on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked ARBA (6-4) 78-74. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Abogados. ARBA maintains third place with 6-4 record having just one point less than leader Abogados. Defending champion Abogados still keep top position with one game lost. ARBA will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Abogados will play on the road against Limon Sh. and are hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Puntarenas. Fourth ranked Puntarenas (5-4) saved a 1-point derby victory at home edging 6th ranked Limon Sh. (4-6) 74-73 in the game for the fourth place. Puntarenas maintains fourth place with 5-4 record. Limon Sh. at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Grecia and Jaguars. Puntarenas will play against Metropoli (#8) in Cartago in the next round. Limon Sh. will play at home against the league's leader Abogados and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Escazu (8-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Jaguars (4-6). Escazu smashed Jaguars 77-56 on Sunday. Escazu have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 8-2 record having just one point less than leader Abogados. Loser Jaguars keep the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Grecia and Limon Sh.. Escazu will meet at home Grecia (#6) in the next round. Jaguars will play against Roswell in San Jose and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 11 bottom-ranked Roswell was defeated by Metropoli in Cartago 80-65.



Puntarenas - Limon Sh. 74-73

Everything could happen in Cartago at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Metropoli and 9th ranked Roswell had identical 2-7 record. This time Metropoli used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from San Jose 80-65 on Sunday night. Metropoli maintains eighth place with 3-7 record. Roswell lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Metropoli will meet at home higher ranked Puntarenas (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Roswell will play against Jaguars (#5) and hope to secure a win.
