Tyrone Nesby Taken First Overall in Liga Superior de Baloncesto Foreign Player Draft- March 19, 2026The Limon basketball franchise made history by selecting Tyrone Nesby IV (198-F/G-1999, college: Webber) with the first overall pick in the Liga Superior de Baloncesto (LSB) foreign player draft, held last Friday.
Nesby, a 6'5" forward, spent two seasons playing college ball with the Wagner Seahawks in the NCAA. He also carries some NBA pedigree — his father, Tyrone Nesby, played three seasons in the league with the Los Angeles Clippers and Washington Wizards. A total of ten players were selected across three rounds, with the draft order determined by team roster rankings in an effort to level the playing field. The full list of picks included Ksuan Casey (206-C/F, college: Wabash Valley) (Semedes), Tylar Haynes (196-G/F, agency: BAGENCY CSA) (Jaguars), Jordan Stephens (196-G) (Roswell), Jordan Jones (Coyotes), Jacksen Greco (190-G, college: Anderson) (Escazú), Geraldo Lane (196-G-2002, college: FHU) (Limón), Jordan Jones (Jaguars), Donte Scott (189-G-1998, college: Concord) (Limón), and Jalen Wilmington (193-G-2000, college: Lewis) (Jaguars). The process began with an international open call that attracted 80 applicants. The LSB's technical committee narrowed the pool down to 30 players, who then took part in an evaluation camp held in Houston, Texas on March 7th. Nineteen players ultimately emerged as draft-eligible from that camp. |
