Ciego de Avila win the LSB 2008. Ciego de Avila is the Queen of Cuba
CIEGO DE AVILA is the Queen of Cuba!!!
'Los Avilenos' won the last game against Capitalinos and they are the
'champions of Cuba' for the fourth consecutive time.
Ciego de Avila won 77-64 against Capitalinos. It was one of the most
exciting games in the LSB History. It was not a beautiful game. There
was too much pressure. The teams played only with 'garra' and heart and
with a bad percentage, but it was a 'real game', with a lot of intensity
and hard contact.
Geoffrey Silvestre was 'The Man', 'El Gato' played a 'partidazo.' He
was for the whole game unstoppable. He is the MVP of these LSB Finals
2008. Ciego de Avila wins another 'Cuban Championship' thanks to him and
Michael Guerra 'the head of the team'. Ciego de Avila is an expert
team, They are used to winning and even if they started 0-2 in these
Finals, they could come back into the series and win deservedly. There
is no team in Cuba nowadays that can contrast two strong players as
Silvestre and Guerra if they are 'on fire'.
Capitalinos was really near to stopping the 'Ciego de Avila's hegemony',
The team of La Habana is a young team and in the future they can really
strive for a title and become Champions of Cuba, but now is a Ciego de
Avila-time, as always, the Queen of Cuba.

Ciego de Avila won the LSB 2008 after an exciting Serie against
Capitalinos de Ciduad la Habana. MVP of the LSB 2008 was
Geoffrey Silvestre with 30.4 ppg. He was not oly the best scorer of
the Finals but 'El Gato' was also the best rebounder of the LSB 2008
with 11.0 rpg. 'El Gato' Silvestre was, as always, the 'Man of the
Finals', an incredible player who could play without problem in any
strong european leagues.

LSB- Time in Cuba, Matanzas
won the 'big match' against Camaguey. With this victory Matanzas has a
17-9 standings and Camaguey a 15-11 standings, Matanzas is more than
sure to be qualified for the Semifinals of this LSB 2008. ' El hombre
del partido' was
Allens Jemmott, He came back after some physical problems and He
scored 29 points (9/9 2pts, 1/8 3pts, 8/9 FT) with 7 steals. To mention
also the game of
Danys Torrientes with 20 pts and a lot of intensity in defense.
Matanzas with this
Allens Jemmott can really dream. ' El Magnifico' is back.
Ciego de Avila won against Villa Clara thanks to
Geoffrey Silvestre, another great game for 'El Gato' with 23 pts
(10/11 2pts, 0/2 3pts, 3/5 FT) and 7 rebs. Capitalinos won easily in
Santiago and Guantanamo won against Metropolitanos an important game,
because with this victory also Guantanamo is qualified for the LSB
Semifinals. MVP of the game was
Henry Simon, who played the TNA with Holguin and only for this LSB
can play for Guantamo, with 30 points.
