It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rincon dC. Punto Rojo forced 25 Rincon dC turnovers. The former international power forward Eduard Caicedo (196-90) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Janer Arcila (-4) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Nixon Mina (205-90) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Rincon dC's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Punto Rojo have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Rincon dC at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Rincon dC will play next round against Sacramento trying to get back on the winning streak. Punto Rojo will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Importadora in Ambato.

Santa Maria's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Piratas maintains second position with 4-1 record behind leader Punto Rojo. Santa Maria at the other side keeps the sixth place with four games lost. Piratas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Santa Maria will play on the road against Caballeros (#4) in Ambato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
