Johnson crowned MVP of LEBES All-Star Game - Sep 8, 2010 Over the past weekend, Liga Elite-LEBES run its All-Star Game. The Blue Selection, made of players from teams Leones and ExSal, defeated the White Selection, made of players from UTAC and San Marcos, 109-105. The game MVP was David Johnson (193-G-85, college: SE Missouri St.), who scored 33 points for the White team ending some plays with thunderous dunks. The other most outstanding players were Brandon Webster (208-C-88, agency: Team Quest Inc., college: Fresno St.), Alexander Blair (203-F-84, agency: Team Quest Inc., college: Fresno St.) and Fred Durr (201-F-85, agency: Team Quest Inc., college: Oklah. Panhandle St.). Johnson was also crowned as the Dunk Contesr winner, beating in the Final Aaron Harrison (207-C, college: Oklah. Panhandle St.) and Edwin Lopez (183-G/F-85). The 3 Point Shooting Contest went to ExSal player Mario Flores (183-G-85), followed by Edwin Lopez and Miguel Banos (186-F/C-84), ExSal wins first LEBES league - Oct 2, 2010 The team named ExSal swept the Final Series, 3-0 over San Marcos, claiming the 'Yamaha Cup 2010' and the first title in Liga Elite history. Game One ended 88-83, with Oscar Rivera (190-F-80) leading the way at 33 points and Dangelo Vaughn (192-F-80) adding 16 at the winnning side. David Johnson (193-G-85, college: SE Missouri St.) had a super game in San Marcos, with 22 pts in losing effort. Three days after, San Marcos found the road again barred. This time, the losers were able to shot the ball four times with the score on 63-61, and few time to go. The San Marcos players, however, were unsuccesful and with a last shot ExSal set the final score of Game 2 66-61. Salvador Bandek (181-G-78) was the best performer with 21 points, Aaron Harrison (207-C-83, college: Oklah. Panhandle St.) and David Johnson led the losers with 22 and 18 pts, respectively On tuesday, Sept. 28, ExSal took the decisive Game 3 win, 82-75 despite a tough game played one time more by San Marcos, and was crowned the LEBES 2010 Champion team. David Johnson scored 20 pts in losing effort, Hector Osorio (191-F-81) 20 points he too, Aaron Harrison added 17, but it wasn' t enough. At the winner side, Oscar Rivera was the top scorer with 17 points, and Fabio Molina (195-G/F-81) added 10 in a more balanced attack. Cosmos triumphs in Liga Premier - Mar 15, 2010 Defeating Halcones 82-71 in the last and decisive playoff game, Cosmos-2 took back the Liga Premier title that had to leave in 2009. The team coached by Ernesto Rodriguez completed a perfect playoff stage, without any loss, for a definitive, impressive season record of 23-2. Promising guard Alejandro Arias (178-G-92) scored 19 points to be the top Cosmos-2 performer in the last game, Ronald Vargas added 16 and Roberto Figueroa (191-F) 12. Among the losing team, Cesar Alvarez was the game top scorer at 23 points, followed by David Reyes with 10. |
