Caver's double-double lands her Liga Mayor Player of the Week award

24-year old USA-ESAn guard Nia Caver (175-G-1999) had a great game in the last round for ITD Santa Tecla 2nd team and receives a Hoops Agents Liga Mayor Player of the Week award for round 9.
She had a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds, while her team beat LMMR 2 (#5, 3-6) 72-62. Santa Tecla 2 is placed at 4th position in Salvadorean league. Santa Tecla 2 is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-5 record. Caver just recently signed at Santa Tecla 2, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Bryant & Stratton College - Buffalo graduate has very impressive stats this year. Caver is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 9.0rpg).

Second best performed player last round was Bexy Claro (193-SF-2001) of Salvadorenas 2nd team. She is Cuban in her first season at Salvadorenas 2. In the last game Claro recorded an impressive double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Salvadorenas 2 lost that game 71-76 to league's leader San Salvador (#1, 9-0). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Salvadorenas 2 still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. Her team's 5-3 record is not bad at all. Claro is one of the most experienced players at Salvadorenas 2 and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.7ppg (#2). She also registered 15.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Dairis Tornell (176-PG-1992) of Liga Municipal Monsenor Romero 2nd team (#5). Tornell scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). Despite Tornell's great performance the LMMR 2 lost 62-72 to slightly higher-ranked Santa Tecla 2 (#4, 3-5). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of LMMR 2 not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 6 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Tornell could try to bring LMMR 2's a little bit higher in the standings. Tornell has individually a great season in El Salvador. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.9ppg (4th best) and assists with 2.9apg (5th best).
