This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Batanecas (2-2) to fifth ranked Santa Tecla 2 (3-2) 44-42 on Tuesday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Santa Tecla 2 held Batanecas to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 26.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Mariandrea Ambelis fired 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Jocelyne Zambrano (169-1993) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds. Cuban center Rachel Contreras (184-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 26 rebounds for lost side. Batanecas' coach Joel Lozano rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Santa Tecla 2 moved-up to second place. Batanecas at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Salvadorenas 2.
The game in was also worth to mention about. 4th ranked LMMR 2 (2-3) played at the court of sixth ranked Salvadorenas 2 (2-2). Salvadorenas 2 did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 76-57. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of LMMR 2. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Gabriela Escobar (162-2007) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Eilen Gilbert contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) for the winners. Cuban Eugenia Fraguela (-1996) replied with 31 points and 9 rebounds for LMMR 2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Salvadorenas 2 moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Batanecas. LMMR 2 at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost.
