Vanessa Bautista claims Salvadorean Liga Mayor Hoops Agents weekly honour

Vanessa Bautista had an amazing evening in the last round for Ahuachapan BC and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Liga Mayor Player of the Week award for round 16.
The had a double-double of 26 points and 29 rebounds, while her team beat LMMR 2 (#5, 5-9) 70-58. Ahuachapan maintains the 7th position in Salvadorean Liga Mayor. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Ahuachapan have already lost 10 games and recorded just four victories. In the team's last game Bautista had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Ahuachapan, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Bautista has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 19.5ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 18.1rpg) and averages solid 2.5bpg,2.1spg and 50.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-PG-1984) of league's best team San Salvador. Romero impressed basketball fans with 34 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course she led San Salvador to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Santa Ana 2 (#4, 8-6) 101-63. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. San Salvador consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. She plays for the best team in the league and San Salvador managed to win all 14 games keeping a perfect record. Romero is well-known by San Salvador fans and she already established her position as one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.5ppg (#3). She also recorded 4.9 assists per game.

The third best performed player last round was another San Salvador's star - Cuban Anisleidys Martinez (181-SG-1989). Martinez showcased her all-around game by recording 22 points, 13 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. She was another key player of San Salvador, helping her team with a 101-63 easy win against #4 ranked Santa Ana 2. San Salvador have amazing season winning all 14 games without a single defeat. Martinez turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Martinez has a great season in El Salvador. After 12 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.4ppg (8th best), rebounds with 11.3rpg (6th best) and assists with 3.8apg (9th best). She also has 2.7spg and a FGP of 57.6%.
