Martinez's double-double lands her Liga Mayor Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

36-year old Cuban shooting guard Anisleidys Martinez (181-SG-1989) had a great game in the last round for league's best team San Salvador and receives a Hoops Agents Liga Mayor Player of the Week award for round 9.
She had a double-double of 20 points and 24 rebounds, while her team crushed Ahuachapan (#5, 4-6) with 25-point margin 89-64. It allowed San Salvador to consolidate first place in the Salvadorean league. San Salvador has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 9-1. In the team's last game Martinez had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. She turned to be San Salvador's top player in her first season with the team. Martinez has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 24.5ppg), assists (5th best: 4.2apg) and averages solid 3.3spg,58.9% FGP and 45.8% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Dairis Tornell (176-PG-1992) of Santa Ana. She is Cuban guard in her first season at Santa Ana. In the last game Tornell recorded an impressive double-double of 31 points and 14 rebounds. Of course Santa Ana cruised to a 74-65 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Santa Tecla (#4, 5-5). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Santa Ana consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. Her team's 6-5 record is not bad at all. Tornell is a newcomer at Santa Ana and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.8ppg (#4). She also registered 7.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Elianis Armenteros (175-G-2000, agency: Interperformances) of ITD Santa Tecla (#4). Armenteros showcased her all-around game by recording 25 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Armenteros' great performance the Santa Tecla lost 65-74 to #3 ranked Santa Ana. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Santa Tecla needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 5 victories and 5 lost games. Armenteros has a great season in El Salvador. After 10 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.2ppg (5th best), rebounds with 10.3rpg (4th best) and assists with 3.1apg (8th best).
