Rachel Contreras claims Salvadorean Liga Mayor Hoops Agents weekly honour

Cuban Rachel Contreras (184-C-1999) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader AD Isidro Metapan and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Liga Mayor Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 26-year old center had a double-double of 20 points and 22 rebounds, while her team outclassed Ahuachapan (#5, 1-2) with 38-point margin 96-58. It allowed Metapan to consolidate first place in the Salvadorean Liga Mayor. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Metapan already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Contreras had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Metapan, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Contreras has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 23.8ppg) and averages solid 1.3bpg and 56.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Metapan's star - young shooting guard Monica Aristondo (163-SG-1992). Aristondo impressed basketball fans with 30 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course together with Contreras she helped AD Isidro Metapan with another comfortable win outscoring Ahuachapan (1-2) 96-58. A very good start of the season for her team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Aristondo is one of the most experienced players at Metapan and similarly like Rachel Contreras has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.3ppg (#4). Her other stats are also decent: 7.5rpg and 5.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was Anisleidy Galindo of San Salvador (#3). Galindo showcased her all-around game by recording 24 points, 14 rebounds (!!!) and 6 assists in the last round. She was a key player of San Salvador, leading her team to a 92-72 easy win against Santa Ana (#6, 1-2). San Salvador needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost games. Galindo has a great season in El Salvador. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.0ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 13.3rpg (4th best).
