Liga Mayor top team - Metapan (5-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Capitalinas (0-5) 68-27. Metapan held Capitalinas to an opponent 17.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Metapan forced 26 Capitalinas turnovers and outrebounded them 53-35 including a 41-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cuban center Rachel Contreras (184-1999) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and Monica Aristondo (163-1992) chipped in 20 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals. Metapan's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Tatiana Huezo (160-2009) responded with 10 points. Undefeated Metapan have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Capitalinas at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost.
