The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Salvadorenas (7-1) at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were edged by San Salvador (7-1) 76-73. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Salvadorenas. It was a key game for the top position in the league. San Salvador forced 20 Salvadorenas turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Anisleidy Galindo who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 24 rebounds and Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) who added 22 points and 6 assists during the contest. Center Silvia Vega (176-2003) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Salvadorenas' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. San Salvador have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They used an opportunity after Salvadorenas lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position which they share with defeated Salvadorenas. San Salvador is looking forward to face Santa Tecla (#5) at home in the next round. Salvadorenas will play against L.M.Mons. (#6) in Santa Ana and are hoping to win this game.

Fifth ranked Santa Tecla (4-4) saved a 2-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Metapan (5-3) 68-66 on Tuesday evening. The winners were led by Ecuadorian point guard Leyda Macias (165-1983) who scored that evening 31 points and 9 assists and Genesis Zabaleta supported her with 19 points and 22 rebounds. Santa Tecla's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds by Cuban center Rachel Contreras (184-1999) did not help to save the game for Metapan. Santa Tecla have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Santa Ana. Metapan lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with three games lost. Santa Tecla will play against league's second-placed San Salvador on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Metapan will play against Santa Ana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
L.M.Mons. (#4) was upset in Ahuachapan by seventh ranked Ahuachapan 75-66. The best player for the winners was Maria Montero who scored 15 points, 26 rebounds, 17 assists and 5 steals. Yenifer Jimenez produced a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Ahuachapan maintains seventh position with 2-6 record. L.M.Mons. at the other side dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. Ahuachapan will meet bottom-ranked Capitalinas (#8) in the next round. L.M.Mons. will play against the league's leader Salvadorenas and will have a slim chance for a victory.

In the last game of round 8 winless Capitalinas lost to Santa Ana on the opponent's court 70-79.

Rather expected game when bottom-ranked Capitalinas (0-8) were defeated on the road by fifth ranked Santa Ana (4-4) 79-70 on Thursday. Santa Ana forced 32 Capitalinas turnovers and outrebounded them 54-37 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Cuban point guard Dairis Tornell (176-1992) who scored 27 points and 4 assists. Dominican forward Ruth Aracena (180-1999) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. Santa Ana's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Tatiana Huezo (160-2009) produced 10 points and 6 rebounds and guard Valeria Ayala (164-2008) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Santa Ana moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Santa Tecla. Loser Capitalinas still closes the standings with eight games lost. Santa Ana will meet higher ranked Metapan (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Capitalinas will play against Ahuachapan (#7) and hope to get finally their first victory.
