They cruised to the victory after the long break. Ruth Hamblin (198-C-94, college: Oregon St., agency: LBM Management) tossed in 15 points and collected 10 rebounds in the win. Anisleidys Galindo (181-SG-89) answered with 12 points for Cuba.

Puerto Rico - Mexico 69-49
Puerto Rico overcame Mexico to open win count in Buenos Aires. Ali Gibson (180-G/F-93, college: Oregon St.) recorded 13 points to lead well-balanced effort for Puerto Rico. They posted a 43:21 halftime lead. Puerto Rico limited Mexico to just 28 points in the second half and rolled to the victory.
