USA celebrated Gold medals in San Juan. They fired past Canada in the championship game. Sylvia Fowles (198-C-85, college: LSU) and Tina Charles (193-C-88, college: Connecticut) came up with 12 points each for the champions. USA piled up a 34:24 halftime lead. They held Canada to just 22 points in the second half and raced to the victory. Jordin Canada (168-PG-95, college: UCLA) provided 11 points in the win. Jamie Weisner-Scott (178-SF-94, college: Oregon St., agency: LBM Management) replied with 12 points for Canada.
3-4 Place
Brazil - Puerto Rico 95-66
Brazil outgunned Puerto Rico to finish third at the tournament. Brazil piled up a 44:33 halftime lead. They unleashed 32 points in the third term to boost the gap to a decisive 27-point mark. Brazil never looked back en route to the podium. Damiris Dantas (191-C-78) finished with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Dayshalee Salaman (163-PG-90, college: Lincoln Memorial) responded with 15 points for Puerto Rico.
