Mexico - Venezuela 74:80

Jose Materan (196-G/F-1996) paced Venezuela past Mexico at the AmeriCup 2022. He nailed 19 points as Venezuela celebrated an 80-74 win in Recife.
Mexico started better and reached 29-19 lead at the end of the first ten minutes. Venezuela meanwhile slowly started to catch up in the second period. They replied with a 16-13 run and then exploded with a massive 27-13 surge in the third quarter.
Jose Ascanio (204-F-1996, agency: Pro Sports) and Windi Graterol (204-C-1986, agency: Pro Sports) produced 17 points each in a win, whilst Edgar Martinez (199-SF-1997) netted 14. Fabian Jaimes (198-PF-1992) replied with 16 points in a loss, while Yahir Bonilla and Daniel Amigo (208-C-1995, college: Denver) had 15 apiece.
