Brazil edged Canada to enter the Final game at the AmeriCup 2022. The home side posted an 86-76 win in the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 Semifinals on Saturday.
Brazil opened the game with a 24-20 run and added a 20-14 rally in the second frame. After falling behind by 13 at the end of the third quarter, Canada opened the fourth on an 8-0 run. A drive from Santos made it a 10-point lead with 37 seconds remaining as it became clear about the winner of the game.
Leonardo Meindl (201-SF-1993) stepped up with 19 points and Lucas Silva (208-C-1995) notched 14. Vitor Benite (194-SG-1990, agency: Pro Sports) and Lucas Mariano (208-C/F-1993) fllowed them with 13 points each. Jahvon Henry-Blair (193-G-1998, college: Georgetown) ended up with 24 points in the losing effort.
