Brazil have won FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2023 opener beating Cuba 92-53. They started with a 29-14 run and never looked behind after. Moreover, Brazil added a 19-16 run in the third quarter and closed the game with a massive 24-6 surge. Vanessa Goncalves (185-F-1994) top-scored for the winners with 16 points, whilst Kamilla Soares (201-C-2001), Damiris Dantas (191-F-1992) and Emanuely De Oliveira (178-F-1999, college: Florida) poured in 13 points each. Yamara Amargo (180-F/G-1985) replied with 13 points in a loss, whilst Nahomis Vargas (185-C-2003) and Isabela Jourdain delivered 10 each.
