Puerto Rico - Colombia 63:62

Puerto Rico have started FIBA Women's AmeriCup with a winning a thriller against Colombia 63:62. Trailing 10-19 at the end of the first period and then 13 points at the halftime, Puerto Rico replied with a 22-11 surge in the third quarter and closed the game with a final 14-11 run. Jazmon Gwathmey (188-G-1993, college: JMU) scored for 63-59 lead, whilst Jenifer Munoz (170-F-1991) nailed three at the very end. Jazmon Gwathmey led the way with 20 points and Arella Guirantes (181-PG-1997, college: Rutgers) added 17. Jennifer O'Neill (165-PG-1990, college: Kentucky, agency: LBM Management) followed them with 13 points in the winning effort. Jenifer Munoz replied with 14 points in defeat and Yuliany Paz (195-F-2000) produced 12.
