Venezuela - Colombia 79:60

Venezuela overcame Colombia in the opener of the 2025 AmeriCup Qualifiers. The hosts posted a comfortable 79-60 win in Maiquetia.
Venezuela grabbed a 24-16 lead and added a 23-18 rally in the second frame. Moreover, they posted two more narrow wins in the second half to secure the first win.
Michael Carrera (196-F-1993, college: S.Carolina, agency: BIG) top-scored for the winners with 19 points and David Cubillan (181-PG-1987, college: Marquette) produced 13. Pedro Chourio (196-G-1990, agency: Pro Sports) and Yohanner Sifontes (192-G-1995, agency: Pro Sports) notched 11 points each in a win. Hansel Atencia (178-PG-1997, college: Master's) ended up with 16 points in the losing effort.
