Mikayla Blakes, 19-year old American guard earned the Most Valuable Player at the FIBA AmeriCup. She plays For the Vanderbilt University in the SEC. Blakes received multiple other awards, picked up the Best Guard and earned a spot in the First Team. She averaged 14 points and over 3 rebounds per game during the event. Blakes' 27 points against Brazil were the most she scored at the tournament.
Damiris Dantas, 32-year old Brazilian forward was named the Best Forward of FIBA AmeriCup. She plays For the Indiana Fever in the WNBA. Dantas was also voted to the First Team. She started playing in the Brazilian National Team 20 years ago. Dantas was previously selected to the Second Team back in 2019. She recorded 6 rebounds per game at the event. Dantas led the FIBA AmeriCup in points per game with over 21. Her 35 points against USA were the most she scored at the tournament. Among many awards Dantas' team made it to the WNBA Semifinals in 2018 and 2020. She was also selected as the Latinbasket All-Paulista League Player of the Year as well as the All-Korean WKBL Import Player of the Year and the All-Paulista First Team and the All-Star Game back in 2020.
Kamilla Cardoso, 24-year old Brazilian center was voted the Best Center at the FIBA AmeriCup. She plays For the Chicago Sky In the WNBA And graduated from the University of South Carolina last year. Cardoso was also chosen to the First Team. She started playing in the Brazilian National Team 4 years ago. Cardoso was previously named to Honorable Mention back in 2021, MVP, Best Center and named to the First Team back in 2023. She orchestrated her way to the fifth spot in points per game, showcasing a dazzling average of almost 15 and third position in averaging over 9 rebounds per game. Cardoso registered double-doubles in 3 games during the event. Her 22 points against Mexico were the most she scored at the tournament. Among many awards she won the NCAA championship title in 2022 and 2024. She was also selected as the All-ACC Co-Defensive Player of the Year as well as the All-ACC First Team and the All-Freshman Team back in 2021. Cardoso was selected as the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Finalist in 2024.
Hannah Hidalgo, American guard earned a spot in the First Team of FIBA AmeriCup. She plays For the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the ACC. With finesse and precision, Hidalgo claimed the fourth position in assists per game, delivering a stellar almost 5 assists per game average. Hidalgo also had over 12 points per game at the event. Her 19 points against Canada were the most she scored at the tournament.
Syla Swords, 19-year old Canadian guard was voted to the First Team at the FIBA AmeriCup. She plays For the University of Michigan in the B10. Swords started playing in the Canadian National Team 2 years ago. She also played for the Under 19 national team back in 2023. Swords averaged almost 10 points and 5 rebounds per game at the event. Her 23 points against Argentina were the most she scored at the tournament. Despite her young age she had an impressive career. She was selected to the Eurobasket All-FIBA World Cup Under 19 Second Team in 2023.
