Dominican Republic - Colombia 84-59

The Dominican Republic opened their AmeriCup 2025 campaign with a commanding 84-59 win over Colombia, showcasing consistency on both ends of the floor. The Dominicans set the tone by scoring 22 points in each of the first three quarters, steadily building their lead while limiting Colombia’s offensive rhythm. By the final period, the gap was insurmountable, as the Dominican Republic’s defense held Colombia to just 11 points in the fourth. With balanced scoring and strong team play, the Dominicans cruised to a comfortable victory, while Colombia struggled to keep pace throughout the matchup.
David Jones-Garcia (198-F-2001, college: Memphis) orchestrated the win with 22 points and Jassel Perez (195-G/F-2001) notched 16. Braian Angola-Rodas (198-G/F-1994, college: FSU) ended up with 19 points in the losing effort.
