Canada - Puerto Rico 82-73

Canada earned an 82–73 victory over Puerto Rico in the AmeriCup 2025, using a strong finish to secure the win. The opening quarter was tight, with Canada edging ahead 20–18, and both teams matched each other in the second at 16–16, giving Canada a slim 36–34 halftime lead. Puerto Rico came out strong in the third, outscoring Canada 23–22 to cut the margin to just one point heading into the final frame. However, Canada dominated the fourth quarter 24–16, pulling away late to seal the nine-point triumph. The balanced effort and clutch closing stretch allowed Canada to overcome Puerto Rico’s challenge and stay in control at the end.
Kyshawn George (201-PG-2003, college: Miami, FL) stepped up with 17 points and Mfiondu Kabengele (207-C-1997, college: FSU) added 13. Joseph Alvarado (183-PG-1998, college: Georgia Tech) answered with 20 points in the losing effort.
