USAC Sweeps Pumas to Claim Liga Mayor Femenina Title-Jul 16, 2026
USAC are champions of Guatemala's Liga Mayor Femenina, closing out a two-game sweep of Pumas with a 53-32 win in the decisive Game 2 at the Gimnasio Nacional Teodoro Palacios Flores. The result confirms a dominant finals series for USAC, who never trailed in the deciding game and controlled the pace from the opening period.
USAC set the tone immediately, winning the first quarter 15-5 and never letting Pumas back into the contest, building a lead as large as 21 points along the way. Vicky Juarez (159-G-1999) led the champions with 18 points on 7-of-15 shooting, and Maria Rivera added 16 points on an efficient 6-of-11 mark, including 3-of-4 from three. Luisa Rodriguez (178-F-1999) controlled the boards with six rebounds, and Paulina Zuleta (157-PG-1998) contributed eight rebounds and two assists. Pumas struggled to find any offensive rhythm, shooting just 21 percent from the field as a team; Mariandrea Ambelis (176-F) led the losing side with 13 points and nine rebounds, but 23 team turnovers proved costly throughout.
