Elohim triumphs at Torneo clausura de la Liga Mayor Metropolitana 2016. In the decisive game Elohim beat USAC 76-65. Elohim led 32-30 at the halftime and exploded with a huge run to take a 19-point advantage entering the last period. Ruben Jerez was named MVP of the Final Four.
Bantrab finished second as they overcame Villa Nueva 80-67.

Municipalidad de Guatemala wins Liga Metropolitano. In the Final game they overcame Elohim 83-74. The latter led 42-36 at the halftime, but could not keep the pace. The final period became decisive in the game and especially the last minutes when Municipalidad de Guatemala scored the last 9 points in the game.
GMS meanwhile finished third as they beat Barberena 72-52 in the game for the third place.
