    ELOHIM are crowned Liga Metropolitana champions. They edged USAC in the decisive third game of the championship series. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-79. 26 personal fouls committed by USAC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for center Bernie Diaz (200-81) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. The former international power forward Oscar Salguero (198-87) helped adding 22 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Miguel Gonzalez (187-90) with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Anthony Guerra (178-97) scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

    USAC celebrated Liga Metropolitana Apertura 2017 title with a perfect 3-0 record at the Final Stage Round. They beat Bantrab 86-63 in the opener and then added a 65-54 win over GMS. In Day 3 USAC beat Club Force 74-41. MIGUEL ESTUARDO GONZALEZ SALGADO top-scored for the winners with 20 points and VICTOR RAUL SOSA ESTRADA netted 12. ALEX ESTUARDO JUAREZ HERNANDEZ and MARCELO ARRIOLA notched 10 points apiece. HELMUT ESQUIVEL replied with 10 points in a loss and HELMULT ALEJANDRO ESQUIVEL ALPIREZ poured in 9.
