Guerra's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

22-year old point guard Anthony Guerra (178-PG-97) put on an amazing game in the last round for GMS and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds, while his team lost the game against the league's best team Club Force (#1, 2-0) 56-75. GMS moved-up to the 7th position in Guatemalan league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 1 games and recorded no victories. In the team's last game Guerra had a remarkable 53.8% from 2-point range. It's his second year at GMS and it's hard to imagine this team without him.

Second best performed player last round was Miguel Giron (95) of Villa Nueva. He is a in his 2nd season at Villa Nueva. In the last game Giron recorded impressive 26 points and 7 rebounds. Bad luck as Villa Nueva lost that game 61-75 to Olmeca (1-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Giron is well-known at Villa Nueva and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.0ppg (#4). He also registered 6.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to center Bernie Diaz (200-C-81) of ELOHIM (#3). Diaz scored 20 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of ELOHIM, leading his team to a 63-41 easy win against Coloso (1-1). ELOHIM needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victory and 1 lost game. The season just started for Diaz as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
