Monterroso's double-double lands him Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award

46-year old point guard David Monterroso (180-PG-1979) had a great game in the last round for Halcones and receives a Hoops Agents Liga Metropolitana Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds, while his team outclassed Crossover (#8, 2-6) with 45-point margin 102-57. Halcones maintains the 3rd position in Guatemalan Liga Metropolitana. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Halcones will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. In the team's last game Monterroso had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Halcones, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Monterroso has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 23.3ppg) and averages solid 67.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Anfernee Munnings (187-G-1997) of Pat City. He is American guard in his first season at Pat City. In the last game Munnings recorded an impressive double-double of 37 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Pat City lost that game 62-91 to slightly lower-ranked PSN (#7, 3-4). Pat City managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Munnings is one of the most experienced players at Pat City and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 46.9ppg (#1). He also registered 12.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Halcones' star - Salgado Salgado. Salgado showcased his all-around game by recording 16 points, 11 rebounds (!!!) and 11 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was another key player of Halcones, helping his team with a 102-57 easy win against the lower-ranked Crossover (#8, 2-6). Halcones needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 2 lost games. Salgado has a great season in Guatemala. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.0rpg (9th best) and assists with 3.1apg (2nd best).
