Liga Metropolitana Round 4: No surprise as #1 Club Force defeat Forza

Liga Metropolitana top team - Club Force (3-0) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat fifth ranked Forza (1-2) in Guatemala City 73-61. Worth to mention a quality performance of center Helmut Esquivel (196-0) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 rebounds and forward David Sequeira (183-98) who added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Club Force's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side naturalized American guard David Goddard (185-89) responded with 29 points and 8 rebounds. Club Force have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 3-0 record, which they share with Villa Nueva. Forza at the other side keeps the fifth place with two games lost. Club Force will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Forza will play against Monjitas (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Monjitas (0-4) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to third ranked Olmeca (2-1) 92-48. The winners were led by Juan Carlos Lemus who scored that evening 28 points and 9 rebounds and Kevin Alvarez supported him with 14 points. Even 20 points and 4 assists by Boris Gil did not help to save the game for Monjitas. Olmeca maintains third position with 2-1 record behind leader Club Force. Top-ranked Villa Nueva (3-0) crushed at home 6th ranked Coeindeguasa (1-3) by 57 points 102-45, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. Pablo Cano fired 27 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Villa Nueva's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Helmuth Palacios produced 12 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Villa Nueva have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Club Force. Loser Coeindeguasa keeps the sixth place with three games lost. Villa Nueva will meet Olmeca (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Monjitas - Olmeca 48-92
