Liga Metropolitana Round 3: Villa Nueva lose to Halcones

It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in Liga Metropolitana, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The biggest surprise of round 3 in Liga Metropolitana took place in where host Halcones (1-0) crushed Villa Nueva (1-1) 73-52 on Friday evening. Halcones looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard David Monterroso (180-79) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Mario Reyes (-1) chipped in 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Enrique Samayoa (193-82) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Villa Nueva will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest. Halcones will try to continue on its current victory against Coeindeguasa on the road.
Amatitlan defeated Coeindeguasa at home 74-68. It was a good game for forward Luis Perez (191-97) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Dereck Morgan contributed with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Naturalized American guard David Goddard (185-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists for Coeindeguasa. Coeindeguasa will play next round against strong Halcones trying to get back on the winning streak. Amatitlan will try to continue on its current victory against Monjitas on the road.

Amatitlan defeated Coeindeguasa at home 74-68. It was a good game for forward Luis Perez (191-97) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.
