Jalapa - Antigua FC 63-91 The game with biggest result difference took place in Jalapa. Local Jalapa (2-8) was outscored by sixth ranked Antigua FC (2-6) 91-63 on Saturday night. Antigua FC moved-up to fifth place. Jalapa lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Antigua FC will meet at home higher ranked Solola (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Jalapa will play against the league's leader St. Lucia and hope to secure a win. Chimaltenango - St. Lucia 73-64 Undefeated St. Lucia (8-1) recorded its first loss on the court of second ranked Chimaltenango on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Chimaltenango 73-64. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of St. Lucia. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Chimaltenango (7-1) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position behind leader St. Lucia. St. Lucia at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. Chimaltenango are looking forward to face Baja Veraoaz (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. St. Lucia will play against Jalapa and is hoping to win this game. Guatemala - Baja Veraoaz 44-62 The game in was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Baja Veraoaz (5-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Guatemala (1-8). Baja Veraoaz did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 62-44. Baja Veraoaz moved-up to third place. Guatemala at the other side stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Baja Veraoaz will play against league's second-placed Chimaltenango in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Guatemala will have a break next round. |
