Garcia's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

Kevin Garcia

25-year old Kevin Garcia (96) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked VILLA NUEVAVNA and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
He had a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Coeindeguasa (#6, 0-6) with 24-point margin 69-45. Villa Nueva maintains the 2nd position in Guatemalan league. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Villa Nueva will need more victories to improve their 6-2 record. Garcia turned to be Villa Nueva's top player in his first season with the team. Garcia has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 14.4ppg), assists (7th best: 2.6apg) and averages solid 61.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Carlos Cruz. He is a in his 3rd season at Villa Nueva. In the last game Cruz recorded impressive 8 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course together with Garcia he helped Villa Nueva with another comfortable win outscoring Coeindeguasa (#6, 0-6) 69-45. Villa Nueva's second position in the standings has not changed. His team's 6-2 record is not bad at all. Cruz is one of the most experienced players at Villa Nueva and similarly like Kevin Garcia has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to Helmuth Palacios of COEINDEGUASACOE (#6). Palacios scored 12 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Palacios' great performance Coeindeguasa lost 45-69 to the higher-ranked Villa Nueva (#2, 6-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Coeindeguasa can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 6 games. Palacios has individually a great season in Guatemala. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.0rpg (5th best).
